VoiceWare™ Distribution Server Screen Captures
The Run button activates the VoiceWare™ Distribution Server. When clicked,
the main menu Status summary indicates that the program is running. When
the Distribution Server is activated it will search for documents to print
according to the criteria established in Routing.
The Stop button stops the VoiceWare™ Distribution Server from searching for
new documents to print. When clicked, the main menu Status summary indicates
that the program is stopped.
The Setup button opens a form that allows the user to choose various setup
options related to the program running status.
The Stats button allows the user two different options. First, the Stats
button allows the user to view immediate statistics concerning the number
of errors that have occurred and the number of printouts that have occurred.
This acts as a quick reference for that information. Second, the Stats button
allows the user to access the databases that detail
both errors that have occurred and printouts that have been completed. The
user should use these buttons to access those databases.
The Routing button opens a form to allow the user to designate the path that
incoming documents should take.
The Setup function allows the user to establish criteria for the functioning
of the program according to the desires of the user.
Choosing the Stop on Error option causes the program to cease its searching
functions when a critical error occurs. The Run on Load option
causes the Distribution Server to automatically run
when the program is loaded.
The Sound option generates a system-type "beep" when the program locates
a document or documents to distribute. This option allows the user to know
that the program is processing a document even if the program is minimized
or the screen is not even turned on. This option acts to alert the user
with audio sound that the program is processing documents.
Minimize on Run: When the user chooses this option the program will minimize (go to the bottom
bar out of sight) each time it runs. If the user has chosen this option
and the option to Run on Load the program will automatically run and minimize.
The user will not even see the program Main Screen at all.
The Distribution Server's purpose is to search for incoming documents that
need to be processed in one way or another. The Search Frequency option
allows the user to determine exactly how often the Distribution Server will
search for documents.
Adding Printers to Routing: This section to the Setup form integrates with the Routing form. The user
may have many printers available to their particular computer. The user
may, however, only need a few of those printers available for routing purposes.
The purpose of this setup option is to allow the user to select only those
printers that may be used as printers in the routing path.
The left-hand side of the Routing form lists specific routing criteria as
chosen by the user. In view mode the Routing form displays user-defined
paths for documents. These user definitions are discussed in detail in the
next section of the Manual titled, Proper and Efficient Use of the Routing
Form.
The Default Prn box in the upper right-hand corner of the screen indicates
the current Windows system default printer for the user's information. In
view mode this information is of little importance. In the add/edit mode
it becomes much more important.
The Designated Action or Printer box details what will be done with a document
when criteria matching the File Information are located. If the document
is to be printed, the printer name will be listed. Alternate Delivery Address - The Alternate Delivery Address indicates the
fax number, the email address, or the drive location for documents that are
not to be printed to paper. If the document is a print project, this box
will say, "None."
The Select Printer box displays all printers available for Routing action.
this box is not active in the view mode and is of little importance to the
user viewing routing path designations. This box becomes important in the
add/edit mode.
The Close button closes the program's operation. The user should only use
this button to quit the operation of the program.
