On September 17, 1998, The Programmers' Consortium, Inc. entered into an agreement with Custom Speech USA, Inc., Crown Point, Indiana. Under the terms of this agreement, Custom Speech USA will develop speech recognition applications that interface VoiceDoc^® and VoiceScribe^TM with voice recognition applications. These products will be for dictation/transcription uses in the medical, legal and business fields. These products will be jointly marketed by the two companies.


Dictation and transcription needs differ for each individual and institution. A complete solution deals with these varying needs. Because small details can make or break a system, we offer, for example, a range of microphones for dictation. These include hand-held and headset models, as well as portable devices for use at home or on the road. And with the new integration, the dictator determines, at the point of dictation, whether to use speech recognition or traditional manual transcription. The new application routes audio and text files, and permits rapid creation of an acoustic model for speech recognition training.


The backbone of this integration of technologies is VoiceWare^TM developed by The Programmers' Consortium, Inc. VoiceWare^TM uses standard multimedia PCs as a dictation or transcription workstation.


The new integration of VoiceWare^TM with voice recognition offers a standalone, 2-PC system, and multi-PC networks.


With the use of patent-pending software, this integration will be the leading-edge solution for voice-generated text dictated into VoiceDoc^®, the transmission of text and voice for editing or transcription, and the automated correction of voice profiles.


Our Speech Trainer add-on to NaturallySpeaking (patent pending), allows your secretary or MT to teach the dictator's speech recognition software for them. This software automates the correction of voice profiles. There is a standalone version of Speech Trainer available for $249.00. Availability is about eight weeks. There is also a network version of Speech Trainer available.
